Kingdom of Paidalot Member Spotlight: Lynn Silva
Posted by Valerie Bordeau on March 21, 2014 at 2:21 PM

Come meet Lynn Silva as she shares her experiences as a member inside the Kingdom of Paidalot. Lynn is a mom of three who is dedicated to helping people incorporate mental skills into work and life so that they can thrive physically, emotionally, and financially. She has overcome so many challenges in her life and now she is helping others do the same through her website Diversimom where she offers a free mental skills assessment.

In this member spotlight, Lynn shares how the Kingdom of Paidalot gave her the courage to leave behind her chaotic and stressful job to pursue a passionate and purposeful career as a freelance writer. She credits the quests in helping her be where she is today. She shares how each individual quest has helped her to grow and become more confident as a writer.

In addition to all the wonderful things she has learned since becoming a member, Lynn especially loves the emotional connection the members inside this community have with one another. The support and encouragement she has received has been a tremendous blessing and now she strives to reach out to give back to others what she has been given. Her life is similar to the following story:

“One day a farmer's donkey fell into a deep well. The animal cried pitifully for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally the farmer made a decision: The animal was old, and the well needed to be filled in anyway. It just wasn't worth trying to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.

Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!”

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping-stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Lynn serves as a reminder that we can do anything we set our minds to if we remain open to the help of others and step up to the challenges before us.

Kingdom of Paidalot Member Spotlight: Adam Bailey
Posted by Valerie Bordeau on March 7, 2014 at 11:40 AM

Come meet Kingdom of Paidalot member Adam Bailey as he shares his experiences inside the Kingdom of Paidalot. Adam Bailey is the Social Media Manager of The Loop Newspaper in Tehachapi, California.

Adam was fueled as a child with a fiery passion for writing. But after receiving a heart-wrenching rejection, he decided to embark on pursuing another trade. Poor choices, mismanagement, and unfortunate circumstances over the next several years left him disenchanted and steered his direction back home to his first passion.

Now Adam is ready to take on the writing world once again. He shares how the supportive and encouraging family-like environment of the Kingdom of Paidalot is inspiring him to become more self-confident in pursing his dreams of writing introspective essays.

He describes the Kingdom of Paidalot as “Disneyland for Writers”. He shares that not only is there such a wealth of incredible content, but there is also such a unique connection that community members share with one another. Having joined various other writing groups before, he has not seen anything like the community inside the Kingdom.

Here members become online friends who help one another through individual obstacles and personal growth issues. They make each other laugh, support and encourage one another through personal barriers, and hold each other accountable. Here writers aren’t judged for who they are or how well their writing ability may be. Writers are respected and loved. These are values that Adam finds highly important for his success. We couldn’t agree more.
